About Us

We are a relatively new chapter founded in 1999 and we are always looking for new members. We are very active in our community as you can see by viewing our chapter projects page. We encourage continuing education for all our members as you can see by our chapter news page. If you or anyone you know is interested in Horology, (the science of timekeeping), here is your opportunity to meet with the Big Bend Timekeepers, Chapter 176 of the National Association of Watch And Clock Collectors.
Founded in 1943, The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC) is a nonprofit scientific organization that serves as a unique educational, cultural and social resource for its membership and the public at large.
Its 31,000 members include hobbyists, students, educators, casual collectors, and professionals in related retail and manufacturing trades. The one common bond (and main membership requirement) is a fascination with the art and science of timekeeping (horology).
Of course, members also share a number of tangible benefits, including yearly subscriptions to two quality NAWCC publications, participation in Regional and National Conventions and trading Marts, local Chapter activities, workshops and educational seminars held throughout the nation. Also complimentary admission to the beautifully renovated and expanded National Watch & Clock Museum in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
If you would like more information or to be a guest at our next chapter meeting.
